Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique blend. The singer's career has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European concerts and festivals up to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine, whose given name was Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing the piano in the church. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in the Atlanta's R&B culture. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for his stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy as well as Tony Awards-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the stage production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine came to national interest during four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
